This is one of the few places in BC where affordable living is still possible. However, not everything is a bed of roses in the Langley real estate market.

The city’s housing sector has been in a wild ride since the beginning of 2020 due to a spiking demand and a constricted supply of dwellings. The result? A considerable increase in the prices, especially in detached houses. Single-family detached homes for sale in Langley are now changing hands for around $1.6M. That’s 38% more than what they cost last year!

The good news is that the housing stock in Langley is plentiful and diverse, offering homebuyers a broader spending range. There are several detached dwellings available for families and retirees, from the classic 3-bed, 2-bath home to custom-built sprawling mansions on generous lots of two or more acres. Additional alternatives (great for singles and couples) include low-rise condominiums and townhouses at more reasonable prices.

Langley is also working tirelessly on thickening the property inventory. In 2021, the city processed several dozens of new development applications, most of them for new five or six-storey condos and rental buildings, 12-unit townhome complexes, and the division of lots for the construction of pairs of houses.

The park provides a bike, scooter, and skate pump track, a mountain bike jump park, wooden post and beam climbing zone, a Ninja warrior style parkour park, basketball, soccer, and ball hockey area with six nets, picnic tables and benches, and a kid’s climb and play zone.
  • Sendall Gardens – Featuring 3.67 acres of plants and trees, beautiful Sendall Gardens is a scenic location for a quiet stroll and a picnic date if you are a plant lover. The charming destination displays colourful flower beds, plants and tree species with stunning landscaping features like enchanting bridges, waterfalls, stone fountains, a greenhouse, and a path network to roam and take instagrammable pictures.
  • Hi-Knoll Driving Range & Mini Golf – With a gorgeous landscape, several water features, and the mountains as a backdrop, this spot is great for an afternoon of mini golf fun. The course can be a bit challenging so make sure to take a break and enjoy the views from one of the abundant shaded benches.
  • Fort To Fort Trail – Located north of Fort Langley, this 9.4 mile trail by Fraser River is a great destination for hikers of every skill level. The trail is mainly used for walking, running and bird watching. Road biking is also accessible in the area during the year. Feel free to bring your pup along but keep it on a leash.
  • Langley Centennial Museum & Exhibition Centre – Langley Centennial Museum is dedicated to preserving the local history, with the display of artefacts and tools and local native art, including wood carvings, sculptures, and basketry. The museum also has local artisans’ ware for sale. Admission is free, but they ask for a voluntary donation.
  • Tynehead Regional Park – Traversed by the Serpentine River and filled with nature trails and wildlife, this park is an outdoor paradise. Visitors can enjoy 14.4 kilometres of hiking trails and 6.3 kilometres of biking paved paths, shaded picnic and BBQ areas, an off-leash dog park, a kids playground, and an RV campsite.
