More about Milton, ON

Though Milton is a small city by GTA standards, its population of 132,000 means you can find all the urban amenities expected from a major metropolitan area. Milton has a youthful flair to it, with a median age of 35 and tons of kids running from school to soccer practice most days of the year. Needless to say, this is a family-friendly city. Though you won’t find all the action and excitement of areas like Mississauga or Toronto, what you will find is a quiet, stable environment to raise children in, kind of like a nest.

Milton, ON Real Estate

Though Milton might seem like a sleepy city at first glance, its real estate market is anything but sluggish. Milton’s real estate market is the second-fastest growing in the Greater Toronto Area, and homes for sale in Milton spend an average of just six days on the market. We’re seeing homes for sale in Milton appreciating over 30% on a quarterly basis, with the average sold price around $1.4 million, which is in line with the Toronto average. What’s going on here?

For one, the majority of Milton residents own their own home, and single-family housing makes up nearly two-thirds of all the housing in Milton. Most of these houses are fairly modern, most are not even thirty years old, and that’s quite a breath of fresh air compared to the GTA core, where most homes were built in the ‘80s at the earliest.

Most homes for sale in Milton have three-to-four bedrooms, are two storeys, and many even feature swimming pools in the backyard, perfect for hot summer days. Interspersed between all the closely clustered neighbourhoods are plenty of parks that usually collect around many of the great local schools.

Milton’s popularity and desirability owes chiefly to the fact that it’s not surrounded by the rest of the GTA, it’s connected to Toronto via the GO train, and its homes are modern and great for large families and generally less expensive than their equivalents in Toronto.
