Taste of Asia Festival

The Taste of Asia Festival is Canada’s largest Asian festival, and it’s been taking place in Markham for 18 years. Named one of Ontario’s top festivals, this event celebrates the rich culture, traditions, artistic manifestations, and cuisines from several countries across Asia through live performances, food vendors, fair rides, a Ferris Wheel, and more.

Pacific Mall

A staple in Markham, Pacific Mall is the largest indoor Asian shopping mall in North America. The commercial centre offers over 500 stores selling all types of goods, from electronics to traditional Chinese clothing and herbal medicine. There’s also a Heritage Town in the mall and a food court and market considered a top tourist destination in the city. Pacific Mall also operates a condo corporation.

Angus Glen Golf Club

Angus Glen Golf Club is one of the top public golf clubs in the Markham area. It was the host venue for the 2015 PanAm games and home to the 2002 and 2007 Canadian Open. If you want to play in a gorgeous environment with top-notch service, be sure to make a reservation here! Tee time can be booked in any of the two 18-hole championship courses.

Pomona Mills Park

This well-kept, massive park comprises nice hiking and cycling trails on both sides of the Don River, a playground, soccer fields, tennis courts, and plenty of parking spaces at the east end of the park. Filled with flowers during Springtime and colour-changing leaves in the Fall, this is the spot for exercising, walking the dog or simply having a relaxing stroll while communing with nature.

Markham Museum

Markham Museum’s exhibits, events, and public programs showcase the past and present of the community. History buffs can go on a self-guided tour of the museum’s 25-acre outdoor and indoor grounds, including an apple orchard and a historic building surrounded by gardens. There are exhibitions regarding food production, metalworking, ceramics, textiles, transportation means, and more.

Reesor’s Farm Market

This farm is one of the best places to get locally-grown produce and tasty, freshly prepared meals and baked goods in Markham, such as mouthwatering pies, muffins, and bread. Reesor’s Farm Market hosts several “pick-your-own” events seasonally, including their famous sunflower & pumpkin patch and a corn maze in the Fall.
