About Agincourt History
Agincourt began as a small village and was once centered around the Knox Presbyterian Church (now the story-book brick church on the corner of Sheppard and Midland). The first post office in the area opened in 1858, and the neighbourhood was named after the French Town where King Henry V won the 1415 Battle of Agincourt. A majority of the area was developed between 1945 and 1965, and many of the original houses built during that time are still thriving there today.

Agincourt North stretches between McNicoll Avenue and Brimley from top to bottom and between Midland Avenue to Markham Road from west to east. Just South of the area houses the Canadian Pacific Railway Toronto Yard – one of the largest marshalling yards in the country.

Homes for Sale in Agincourt South – Malvern West
Agincourt South and Malvern West run from Finch Avenue East to Highway 401 from top to bottom and Markham Road to Kennedy Road from east to west. In comparison to Agincourt North, this area is smaller and has fewer properties within it. However, the homes for sale in Agincourt South typically include more of the original structures from the 1940’s and fewer new developments.

Aside from the large number of parks in Agincourt, the neighbourhood also offers other recreational areas to spend their time in. The Agincourt Recreation Centre offers a pool and an ice rink for residents to use, along with other sports courts and amenities. Albert Campbell Collegiate Institute also has a pool, and Commander Park Arena provides another ice rink for those looking to brush up on their skating skills. If you want to spend some relaxing time indoors, the Agincourt Public Library is an excellent place to spend the afternoon.
Shopping and Dining
Agincourt offers a wide variety of shopping malls and dining areas. You can find a burst of Asian culture along Sheppard Avenue, with plenty of supermarkets, seafood restaurants, and bakeries that reflect Agincourt’s diversity. There are a number of unique cafes throughout the neighbourhood, so pick your favourite and hang out there with a good book or meet up with some friends for a while.
The largest shopping center that Agincourt has to offer is the Agincourt Mall. The mall is located between a Wal-Mart and Loblaws Supermarket, and it has a vast array of chain stores and local businesses to browse through. Agincourt Mall also has a food court for you to take advantage of when you need a lunch break.
Woodside Square is another excellent shopping centre where you will find discount stores, supermarkets, and boutiques. There is even a Chinese bookshop in this plaza and an herbal and health grocery store.
Public Transit
Agincourt is very public-transit friendly. A Go Transit station specifically for Agincourt residents on Sheppard Avenue North t provides commuters with service to Union Station downtown. Toronto Transit also offers bus lines that stop on Finch and Sheppard Avenues, and from here, you can reach the Yonge-University-Spadina subway line. Bus lines that stop at Kennedy, Brimley, McCowan, Bellamy and Markham Roads provide service to the Bloor-Danforth subway line.
