About Moose Jaw, SK

Moose Jaw is a small city on the prairies in Saskatchewan, Canada. It’s located about 200 km south of Saskatoon. Moose Jaw has some great parks for walking and biking, a few museums, and plenty of recreation centres where you can take classes or just get active for the day. The schools are fantastic and the economy has been improving year-after-year. Whether you need a starter home or are looking to upgrade, you’ll be able to find what you need in Moose Jaw.

Moose Jaw started out as a stop on the Canadian Pacific Railway line in the late 1800s. It became the seat of rural municipalities in 1929, and shortly after, Moose Jaw was declared a city in 1961. Since then, Moose Jaw has become an area with lots of parks and outdoor activities. The two biggest parks are Wakamow Valley and Crescent Park. Both are large enough to host several soccer or football tournaments without any overlap with different events, which is great if you love to play sports. Moose Jaw also has a number of museums on topics like aviation history, early pioneers, art, and military history. A big tourist attraction in Moose Jaw is the Moose Jaw Underground Tunnels. These tunnels allow you to experience Moose Jaw’s history like never before, with interactive displays and theatrical reenactments.

Moose Jaw has two public elementary schools, two middle schools, and a high school. On top of public school options, Moose Jaw also has private schooling and homeschooling options available. If you have kids or teens, you will definitely find the educational options you need.

Moose Jaw has a strong economy. In addition to other industries, the tourism industry in Moose Jaw is thriving. The hotels and motels in the area are often full during the summer months. Moose Jaw is also a city with high employment rates. There are many jobs available in this area and the cost of living is fairly low. Some major employers in the area include the Canadian Pacific Railway, the Moose Jaw Public School Division, and the Moose Jaw Police Service.

Moose Jaw is also a great place to buy or sell real estate. Property values here have been increasing steadily over the last 5 years or so, but they still remain relatively affordable. The average home price falls between $250,000 and $275,000. If you’re looking for a quiet spot with plenty of space not far from major amenities like hospitals and shopping areas, then you’ll love living in Moose Jaw!

Moose Jaw Transportation

In Moose Jaw, there are two public bus transit systems available. One is the City of Moose Jaw Transit and the other is Saskatchewan Transit System. Using these buses is a great way to get around town without using your car. The downside, however, is that these buses only run during daytime hours on weekdays, and they typically do not run on evenings or weekends. If you want to get around late at night or on the weekend, there are a few taxi companies in Moose Jaw you can connect to. Driving around Moose Jaw is easy, and there are typically parking spaces or lots wherever you need to go. If you want to walk or bike around the city, there are sidewalks and bike lanes available throughout the area. When you live in Moose Jaw, the best airport to fly out of is the Regina International Airport. It’s only about 20 minutes away, and it’s easy to get to from Moose Jaw by either bus or taxi.
