Erindale’s Humble Beginnings
Erindale has been through a lot since its founding in 1822. The village was established as a stopping point between Hamilton and York, offering a hotel, general stores, and a church for travelers to visit. When the Great Western Railway came to the forefront in 1855, the village became a sleepy hollow aside from a few sawmills operating in the area on the Credit River. A devastating fire swept through the village in 1919, and it didn’t recover until it amalgamated with Mississauga in 1968. Since then, this village has become a flourishing site for homeowners in all seasons of life to come and enjoy the quiet lifestyle Erindale offers.
