More About Corktown, ON Real Estate

Corktown is a historic community in Toronto that has evolved to become one of the city’s ‘It’ neighbourhoods. The area was founded by (and named after) working-class Irish immigrants from County Cork who arrived in this portion of Toronto in the early 1800s. Today, Corktown is a vibrant and diverse community of around 3,000 people living in a desirable mix of residential properties interspersed with commercial areas.

Corktown is home to many charming small businesses, restaurants and cafes, great schools and recreational venues, a lively cultural & arts scene, and several parks and green spaces.

Although families still predominate in this area, Corktown is highly sought-after among young professionals and entrepreneurs thanks to its convenient location, abundant urban amenities, and unique atmosphere. There has been a recent influx of young, creative individuals seduced by the dynamic real estate market, affordable urban lifestyle, and settled sense of community.

The neighbourhood sits south of Regent Park and Queen Street and north of the Gardiner Expressway and the Distillery District. The Don River bounds it to the east and Parliament Street to the west.
