More About Crescent Town Real Estate

Crescent Town was originally a part of a 240-acre farm that produced poultry, eggs, trout, and dairy. In 1933, 40 acres of the farm were given to Crescent School, but in 1969 the school property was sold to developers who carefully planned what is now present-day Crescent Town.

Dawes Rd and Victoria Park Ave sandwich the neighbourhood, with Crescent Town Rd and Massey Square sprawling across the middle. Crescent Town is ideal for transplants who are just moving to Toronto, singles and couples, and those who prefer to travel by foot or use public transportation.

Homes For Sale In Crescent Town, Toronto, ON

A large portion of the homes for sale in Crescent Town are apartments for people who rent, but there are a few townhomes and condo buildings near Massey Square. Most of the area was developed during the ‘60s and ‘70s and the buildings reflect the styles of that era. Most condos have one to two bedrooms and one bathroom, but if you’re looking for a bigger home, consider a townhome, as they typically have more bedrooms and bathrooms.

Because Crescent Town is small, there’s usually not a lot of stock available on the market. Because of this, inventory is low with an average of about five homes for sale at a time. Condos are typically around $450K to $550K, while townhomes can be found for about $1M.

Crescent Town Amenities

Despite Crescent Town’s small footprint, the neighbourhood still functions as its own community with several amenities that residents use daily.

Parks and Recreation

  • Crescent Town Hall– Is located on the ground floor of building five and is the hub for entertainment and activities. Here you’ll find a church, library, and meeting rooms available for clubs and events.
  • Crescent Town Club– This is a multi-functioning complex for sports. Here you’ll find a gymnasium, handball courts, indoor track, racquetball, squash courts, and a swimming pool. This place is also the community centre for Crescent Town and offers activities for people of all ages.
  • Taylor Creek Park– On the north side of Crescent Town is Taylor Creek Park. It spills out of the neighbourhood, but it’s so close that it’s easily considered a part of the community. This heavily-wooded park is ideal for bird watching and photography. It also includes several picnic areas and a trail that spans the width of the neighbourhood for exercise.
  • Dentonia Park Golf Course– Located just east of Crescent Town is a beautiful eighteen-hole golf course rated moderate to difficult. Though it’s not technically in the neighbourhood, it’s just as convenient to get there as it’s right next door.

Shopping and Dining

The Market Place located in the heart of Crescent Town is a variety of shops and businesses to suit the everyday needs of the locals. At The Market Place, you’ll find a bank, drugstore, a dry cleaner, a grocery store, a hair salon, medical and other business offices, and more.

Residents of Crescent Town also can walk to the shopping district by Danforth and Victoria Park Avenues.

Public Transit

The number one reason Crescent Town appeals to those without a vehicle is that the neighbourhood makes it easy to get from one place to another just by walking. All the walkways are actually located above street level! So, whether going to school, Crescent Town Club, The Market Place, or Crescent Town Hall, you can conveniently get there by simply walking! Those travelling to and from the neighbourhood have access to the Bloor-Danforth subway line by using the walkway that connects to the Victoria Park subway station. Though Crescent Town isn’t ideal for motorists, parking here is surprisingly easy.
