Leaside Real Estate In Toronto

A majority of Leaside homes were built prior to the 1960s, with a few new additions coming in later on. Most of the homes for sale in Leaside you’ll find are single-family, tudor-style houses that were built in the ‘30s and ‘40s. One of Leaside’s newest condo developments is the Upper East Village Condos, located at Brentcliffe and Eglinton East. Recreation

Leaside Memorial Community Gardens is the centre for recreation in the neighbourhood. This multi-recreational facility includes an indoor ice rink, indoor swimming pool, a curling rink, and an auditorium. Leaside Memorial is an excellent alternative for getting active on cold or rainy days, since most of its offerings are indoors.

Looking for something out of the box? SkyZone Trampoline Park is located in Leaside as well. With a foam pit, trampoline dodgeball court, warrior course, and more, SkyZone is a great way for kids and adults to burn off some energy. The Leaside Public Library and VanderHoof Skatepark are some other great recreation options.

Parks

There are a number of parks to go to when you live in Leaside, and each park offers something different. Here are two of the best parks to check out in Leaside.

Sunnybrook Park provides excellent picnic spots, top-notch sports, a walking trail, a snack bar, and even horseback riding stables!
Trace Manes Park is home to Leaside Tennis Club with six tennis courts! Trace Manes also offers a playground, baseball diamond, and an ice rink. Even better? This park is right across from the Public Library, so you can head inside for a break when you need one.

Shopping and Dining

Leaside has a ton of shopping and dining options for every taste. Bayview Avenue is a popular shopping spot for families, as there are several great children’s stores along the stretch. Not only does it offer great stores for kids, but Bayview Ave. also features antique shops, specialty stores, and pubs. Sunnybrook Plaza and the surrounding stores on Eglinton Avenue are one of Leasides most popular shopping centres. More specialty shops and small businesses are located toward the centre of the neighbourhood along McRae Drive and Millwood Road.

Leaside’s newest shopping addition is the Leaside Centre. Right across from Leaside Business Park, this shopping centre is where you’ll find national retailers and bigger chains.

Transportation

Leaside offers several modes of transportation for residents. Walking around is easy in Leaside, with many daily errands being easy to accomplish on foot. If you are keen on cycling, Leaside has a great biking network, but it can be strenuous since there are many inclines throughout the neighbourhood. As far as public transit is concerned, Leaside provides bus lines that connect you to different parts of the city as well as subway stations. Wherever you need to go, one of the buses that run through Leaside are sure to get you there.

If you have your own vehicle, you can be downtown in ten minutes through the Bayview Extension. The extension also meets Don Valley Parkways and other highways, so you’ll always have an easy time travelling by car.
